Fascinated by U.S. history and military history

WAKEFIELD — Reginald V. Power, 78, of Wakefield, died Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Revere on January 20, 1940 he was the son of the late Aurie and Ruby (Crooks) Power.

Mr. Power was raised in Revere and Winthrop and was a graduate of Winthrop High School. He then served in the United States Air National Guard. At the age of 60, Mr. Power had retired from WBVB TV after 35 years of service; he had been a film technician and editor. He enjoyed fly fishing, music, and most especially was fascinated by US history and military history.

He was the beloved husband of Maureen A. (McArdle). He was the loving father of Ian C. Power and his wife Priscilla and Jeffrey S. Power and his wife MaryAnne, all of Wakefield. He was the devoted grandfather of Lily, Madison, and Christopher Power. He was the brother of Murray Power and his wife Fran of Somerville and the late Douglas Power, Elizabeth Lolacona, Marjorie Cantone, and Shirley Green.

Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
