STONEHAM — Robert T. “Pic” Walsh, 91, of Stoneham, formerly of Wakefield died on June 16, 2018 at The Arbors of Stoneham.

He was born on November 7, 1926 and was the son of the late Leo and Josephine (O’Donnel) Walsh. Pic was a lifelong Wakefield resident and graduate of Wakefield High School where he starred in baseball. He was also an avid golfer. He was retired from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and was a veteran of WW II and served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Seaman 1st Class from 1944-1946.

Pic was the beloved husband of the late Lorraine (Millet) Walsh. He was the loving father of Deborah A. Grover and husband William of Ithaca, N.Y., Robert T. Walsh, Jr. and wife Patricia of Saugus and David L. Walsh of Lynn. He was the brother of Hugh Walsh of Fla., and the late Janet Walters, Leo Walsh and Barbara Dixie. Robert is also survived by his grandchildren William and Michael Grover, Justene Walsh and Haley Lynn Walsh. Many cousins and other relatives also survive.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
