Terrific cook who enjoyed hosting holiday events

WESTFORD — Ruth Lorraine (Belliveau) Saulnier, 84, of Westford, formerly of Wakefield passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at Bridges by EPOCH in Westford. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard J. Saulnier who died in 2009.  

Born in Malden on April 2, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Leo F. and Marion (Boudreau) Belliveau. Raised and educated in Malden, Lorraine graduated from Malden Girls Catholic High School. She met her future husband Len and they married on September 29, 1956 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Malden. Lorraine in Len settled in Wakefield in 1961 where together they raised their loving daughters.  

Lorraine was a devoted wife and mother, she was a terrific cook and enjoyed hosting holiday events. She also enjoyed sewing, traveling the country by car, and candlepin bowling.  

She is survived by her daughters Elaine Mitsock of Hopkinton, Marianne Waisnor and her husband Bob of Westford, Barbie Saulnier and her husband Ralph Laughlin of Salisbury and her grand daughters Katelyn Causton and her husband Ben of Brighton, Stacey Driscoll and her husband Chris of Methuen, Christina Mitsock of Brighton and Emily Mitsock of Medford. She was predeceased by her sister Muriel Timmins, and her brothers Leo “Bud” Belliveau and Paul Belliveau.  

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Lorraine on Friday, June 1, from 9:30 -11 a.m. in St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N Main St., Westford. Her funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m. Burial in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Westford.
