Wakefield sophomore running back Aidan Sweeney was recently named to the Boston Herald’s 14th annual preseason MIAA football watch list.

Sweeney was one of 16 running backs listed as an honorable mention. He was the only sophomore running back on the list.

He was one of just two sophomores on the entire watch list, joining Everett wide receiver Ismael Zador who made the second team.

Sweeney led the Warriors with 11 rushing touchdowns last year. His best game came against Boston Latin on Nov. 9 when he rushed for 200 yards and four touchdowns.
