WESTON — William A. Cummings, 71, of Weston, formerly of Wakefield, died on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the Emerson Hospital in Concord.

Born in Melrose on December 2, 1946, he was the son of the late Foster and Doris (Kennedy) Cummings.

Mr. Cummings was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1964, Colgate University, Class of 1968 and had received his MBA from the Tuck Business School at Dartmouth College. He was a member of the Cambridge Boat Club and had volunteered for 30 years on the Race Committee for the Head of the Charles Regatta. Mr. Cummings had served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an avid lover of music and hockey.

Mr. Cummings is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Bryson and her husband Matthew of Boston, his son Alistair Cummings of Somerville, his brother Wendell A. Cummings of Sedalia, Colorado, his sister Nancy L. Cummings of Wakefield and his niece Meredith Pamp of Portland, Oregon.

His funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service starting at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
