READING — William E. “Bill” Dunham, 86, of Reading, died on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Rome, New York on June 19, 1931, he was the son of the late Worden and Isabelle (Tiffany) Dunham.

Mr. Dunham was raised and educated in Rome, New York. He lettered in tennis and track, was the business manager of the yearbook and was elected to the National Honor Society in High School. Mr. Dunham served in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a 3rd Class Petty Officer Hospital Corpsman. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Gordon College, Class of 1959. While at Gordon, he met and married his late wife, Debora, in 1957. They later moved to Reading where they raised their family. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Reading and was active at the Reading Senior Center as well as in the Reading Republican Town Committee.

Mr. Dunham was the husband of the late Debora R. (Carles) Dunham. He is survived by his two daughters; Devon Schneider and her husband Steve of Billerica and Tiffany Rose and her husband Duane Mero of Lake Stevens, Wash. Mr. Dunham is also survived by his 13 grandchildren and his six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Kenneth Dunham and his sister Mary Thomas.

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 45 Woburn St, Reading on Sunday at 2 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
