Jennessobit-webWAKEFIELD — Winnifred Jenness, 87, of Wakefield died peacefully on Saturday, March 25, surrounded by loving family at home.

Born in Melrose on July 23, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Olive (Glendinning) Payne.

Mrs. Jenness had been a Wakefield resident since 1959. She was a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1947. Mrs. Jenness was a retired administrative assistant for the First National Bank of Boston.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Wakefield and the John J. McCarthy Senior Center in Wakefield.

Mrs. Jenness is survived by her daughter Kathleen J. Ross and her husband Robert of Wakefield; her son Bobby Jenness of Lynn; her brother Frederick Payne of Durham, New Hampshire; her four grandchildren: Adrienne Manninen, Kimberly Wickman, Andrew Jenness and Sarah Jenness; her three great grandchildren:
Olivia Manninen, Tyler Manninen and Emma Rose Wickman, and two nieces: Deborah Chase and
Nancy Sawyer.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 5 Bryant St., Wakefield on Saturday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home in Wakefield.
